An original Renoir sketch has been found in the Upper Valley.
The rare sketch by acclaimed 19th century French impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir was lying in a home in Weathersfield.
The sketch’s former owners died and Bill Smith, owner of W.A. Smith Auctions, is auctioning off their household items.
Smith estimated the sketch of woman wearing only a hat, slightly bent over a lamb, will sell for $150,000--mainly because he has the documented proof it's real.
The sketch with the documentation is a rare find, even for Smith, who has spent his lifetime in the auction business.
