STRAFFORD FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
A parade with a kazoo band, a lawn-chair lady drill team, farm equipment, and old cars; games, food and events on the common; an awesome book sale; an art exhibit; a chicken BBQ; a variety show; a softball game; an auction; a frog jumping contest; raffles; a tug-of-war; and much, much more!! It all starts at 5pm Friday night and continues through the evening on Saturday.
Bring a picnic and admire the sculptures.
HARTLAND OLD HOME DAYS
Hartland Old Home Day starts with an 8 a.m. tractor pull, then parade at 11 a.m. The Moonlighters Big Band will perform live music at 7 p.m. Fireworks start at 9 p.m.
BILLINGS FARM OLD VERMONT FOURTH
Debates and speeches all day, including a 1 p.m. women’s debate of the topic: “Is the production of great works of literature favored by the conditions of modern civilized life?” Adults and older students can test their 19th century vocabulary skills in a spirited spelling bee.
READING OLD HOME DAYS
Reading Old Home Day kicks off with a “Hollywood" parade, followed by a chicken bbq and ducky derby as well as ox pulling and cow flop bingo.
BARNARD FLEA MARKET AND BARBECUE
Barnard Volunteer Fire Department’s annual flea market and chicken barbecue is taking place Saturday at the Barnard Town Hall.
