Swimming in milk
Having a couple family cows, we have access to farm fresh raw milk each and every day. With a couple teenage boys in the house and a hard working forester/logger for a husband, lots of milk gets consumed. With the rest of the milk, we turn it into butter, yogurt and cheese and sell raw milk to a handful of loyal customers. And nothing beats, milk from cows fed lush, nutritious pasture! (That will be a separate blog post)
Since it is not legal to sell value-added raw milk dairy products in Vermont, we offer a Butter, Yogurt & Cheese making class at least 8 times a year, giving hundreds of people the confidence and drive to create delicious value added dairy products in their own kitchen.

An additional class we like to offer at least once a year is a class called 'The Family Cow', helping those new to farming or single-cow dairying with some important tools, information, and resources so that they can plan their new enterprise wisely.
Our next Family Cow class happens to be this Sunday, May 20th from 12:30 - 4:30 pm! Participants will get a tour of our 2-cow dairy operation and there will be class time to cover the following:

Hand Milking and the Bucket Milker
Milk Safety, Milk Quality & Testing Your Milk
Developing a Grazing System for your animals
