Thanks to these volunteers, there is no "Ice melt" here.
The residents of Norwich are very fortunate to have a crew of folks who will band together to build and maintain a top quality Ice Skating rink from scratch every year in December.

The rink is used by residents during the day and also under the night lights. Here are some photos taken by me recently.
An afternoon of skating
Some are resting as others enjoy every moment of ice time
a hockey game in progress?
lick here if you would like to see an interesting hockey game

Night Skating (hey where are they?)
Oh there they are!
It is quiet again until the next time
After a few days of hockey games and skating the ice is in need of some maintenance in order to keep it in pristine shape.
Volunteers are called to duty to make this happen. These Amazing volunteers shown below are getting the crud off the rink!
Ice crud forms from daily use and weather conditions
New fallen snow needs to be removed
Scoop it up and throw it out to make the rink like new again
Refill with some fresh water (Fill it up regular please)
And this is what it will look like as it freezes again
