Norwich Lion's visit Green Mountain Lion's Camp in Cabot VT for annual clean-up day and to roar once more.

Yes ! They left the den but soon came back again

As the attached photo's document, Norwich Lions were well-represented during today's clean up day at the Green Mountain Lions Camp in Cabot VT.

Here is the link to our Cleanup effort of last year. Norwich Lions Cleanup 2018

Such a beautiful place

A nice trail is evident after the brush is cleared.

Lions Nico, Nicole, Steve, Peter Brion and Gary were on hand to help with this effort.  Unfortunately Lions Cheryl, Demo and Dave Lamal had last minute conflicts and were unable to join us. Another "level" photo was taken and can be seen here.  Photo's taken by Gary, Steve, and some from Demo's photo's from last years cleanup effort.

These Lions are level headed " Really they are"

Norwich Lions arrived at the Camp around 9:30 am and we were immediately put to work. We spent the morning pruning and  lopping trees and picking up and piling branches and limbs that had accumulated around cabins and tent platforms.

Our"plan to slip out" around 1 pm after lunch was foiled!  Last minute carpentry tasks that needed attention and most of our brother and sister Lions had already departed.  Nico and Nicole went to work replacing steps to one of the cabins. Steve helped a brother Lion to replace an exit frame and Brion, Peter and I dismantled and "planned" for the eventual repair of a cabin railing.

Building a new set of stairs to a cabin

Brion and Gary work on replacing an existing staircase railing

Must be they overworked him

Nico and Nicole are a formidable team (look at this staircase)

Carpenters Nico and Steve are making it happen also

During the past three years the number of D45 Lions volunteering the Clean up Day has steadily fallen from 90 to 50 to around 25 this year.  The absence of hand tools to accomplish the carpentry tasks was our greatest challenge.

While the weather was quite accommodating, the black flies were out in force!  We enjoyed a nice lunch, as well as an opportunity to meet and work with fellow Lions from D45 clubs.

About ten Meadow Muffins were sold and the monies collected turned in to Nico.

We departed around 2:45 pm.

On behalf of KL Warren, I want to thank our Norwich Lions for their contribution to the success of today's "clean up day".
